Tony Horton - I have been building scale models for the past thirty years and by now I should be getting better, although sometime I wonder. I have been a member of West Middlesex Scale Model club for the last 25 years or so, which includes the time that it was known as the Heathrow Model Club. I am currently the Club Secretary and with that I try to keep the club running on a day-to-day basis, although sometime other members in the club have to pick up anything I cannot handle.

As well as my West Middlesex Scale Model Club responsibilities, I am currently the IPMS(UK) Competition Secretary as well. In this role, I am responsible for the competition that is held at Scale Model World. Although I enter competitions all over the country, being responsible for the biggest international competition does have a lot of pressure sometimes! I am always keen to promote this hobby of ours and more than willing to pass on any tips or techniques to any members who wish to build that special model or simply to anybody who is keen to build any kind of scale model.

I'm a member of a number of IPMS(UK) Special Interest Groups including the Fine Waterline SIG and the Harrier SIG. I also attend the IPMS Farnborough Branch evenings on a regular basis.
